  2. There's hardly been a year like it, I can only think of 1977 (Elvis, Callas, Bolan - within days of each other; golf was dangerous that year too: Bing and Stephen Boyd both died after playing. Or there's 1982 when favourites Inrid Bergman, Princess Grace and Romy Schneider all died).
    Apparantly 2016 was so bad as so many of that wartime babyboom generation who came to prominence in the 60s and 70s are now at the age when illness and death get more common.

    1. Lordy - I had forgotten that sudden rush of deaths in '77 (mind you, I was only fourteen, and even Marc Bolan was just someone glittery who had been on telly a lot...). Jx

  3. Of course Christmas period being a lull for broadcasting, its been wall to wall George Michael, Carrie Fisher and Debbie ever since.
